În luna septembrie, un maraton cultural de excepție va marca două evenimente importante din istorie: aniversarea a 559 de ani de la prima atestare documentară a Bucureștiului, precum și împlinirea a 100 de ani de la Marea Unire, fiind un prilej de sărbătoare, atât pentru bucureșteni, cât și pentru turiștii din țară și din străinătate. Astfel, în perioada 21 – 23 septembrie 2018, Primăria Capitalei, prin creart – Centrul de Creație, Artă și Tradiție al Municipiului București, organizează în Piața Constituției un program cultural grandios, constând într-o serie de trei evenimente consecutive.

Cea de-a V-a ediție iMapp Bucharest și concert HURTS

Ziua de sâmbătă, 22 septembrie 2018, este marcată de organizarea celei de-a V-a ediții a evenimentului iMapp Bucharest – unul dintre cele mai mari show-uri de 3D videomapping din lume, un concurs internațional care aduce design-ul, arta contemporană și spectacolul direct pe fațada de 23.000 de metri pătrați a Palatului Parlamentului. De-a lungul celor patru ediții, iMapp a reunit un public de peste 240.000 de spectatori.

iMapp Bucharest, concurs internațional care a devenit un subiect de referin­ță pentru specialiștii din industria audiovizuală internațională, îi va aduce la București, pentru al cincilea an consecutiv, pe cei mai buni artiști multimedia din lume, care își vor prezenta creaț­iile pe faț­ada Palatului Parlamentului. Tema ediț­iei din 2018 este dedicată Centenarului Marii Uniri: Albastru. Galben. Roșu. Un secol de modernitate în România.

Pentru prima oară în istoria festivalului, un număr de 10 echipe internaț­ionale au fost alese pentru a participa în finala iMapp Bucharest de pe data de 22 septembrie 2018, în urma unui Open Call lansat în luna mai 2018. Echipele au fost provocate, printr-un brief creativ, să conceapă lucrări folosindu-se de culorile steagului na­țional, evenimente și figuri marcante din istoria României, cu accent pe o perspectivă artistică și mai puț­in pe una documentară. În competiție s-au înscris echipe care provin din țări precum: Rusia, Germania, Spania, Franța, Canada, Belgia, Ucraina, Ungaria, China, Mexic, Tailanda, Columbia, Bulgaria, Italia, Austria, Anglia, Portugania, Polonia, India.

Cele 10 echipe finaliste ale căror lucrări vor fi prezentate la iMapp Bucharest 2018 sunt: Sila Sveta din Rusia, Go2 Productions din Canada, LosRomeras and OTUCINEMA din Spania, NullPixel din Mexic, SKG Media din China, United Motion Labs din Austria, Mindscape Studio din România, OCUBO din Portugalia, ArtZebs din Ucraina și Vision Impossible din Olanda.

În data de 22 septembrie 2018, cele 10 lucrări ale participanților vor fi analizate de către un juriu specializat, alcătuit din experți distinși și reprezentanți importanți ai culturii vizuale internaționale, din domeniul artelor vizuale, comunicare, mass-media sau film.

Din juriul competiției finale iMapp Bucharest 2018 fac parte: Xavi Bové – artist, curator, profesor și Director artistic al FIMG – Festivalul Internațional de Mapping din Girona în 2016, Kate Harvey – producător asociat în cadrul companiei creative Artichoke din UK, Ronald Ramakers – regizor independent în Olanda și Germania timp de 10 ani, fondator al companiei audiovizuale Phanta Vision și Director al Festivalului Internațional de Artă a Luminii – GLOW Eindhoven, Craig Harvey – expert inginer, tehnician strategic la Factory Light Festival din Norvegia și Yann Nguema – artist ambasador al Festival of Light din Lyon (Franța).

În anul 2016, iMapp Bucharest a fost nominalizat în categoria Live Event of the Year, la premiile AV Awards din Londra – renumita competiție internațională care își propune să recunoască și să recompenseze excelența în întreaga industrie audiovizuală, organizată de AV Magazine din Marea Britanie, revistă care de peste 40 de ani domină sectorul editorial audiovizual și este renumită atât în Europa, cât și în afara ei.

iMapp Bucharest va avea, ca în fiecare an, o componentă interactivă esenț­ială, publicul având posibilitatea de a-și alege favoritul printr-un SMS, la un număr cu tarif normal pus la dispoziție de către organizatori în seara evenimentului. Astfel, echipa care va aduna cele mai multe voturi prin SMS va fi desemnată câștigătoarea Premiului Publicului 2018. Mai mult decât atât, unul dintre votanții din cadrul ediției din 2018, are șansa de a câștiga prin tragere la sorți un City Break!

Înaintea concursului de 3D video-mapping, pe scena din Piața Constituț­iei vor urca artiști locali și internaț­ionali de renume, care vor deschide oficial evenimentul prin concerte electrizante. Anul acesta, pe scena din Piața Constituției, va urca celebra trupă britanică HURTS, un duo synth-pop englezesc format în Manchester în anul 2009, alcătuit din cântărețul Theo Hutchcraft și multi-instrumentalistul Adam Anderson. Trupa este consacrată la nivel internațional, adunând la concertele lor sute de mii de fani. De-a lungul celor 4 albume lansate, formația a vândut milioane de copii în întreaga lume.

Trupa românească de rock alternativ, The Mono Jacks, va concerta în deschiderea HURTS, oferind o experiență live efervescentă, într-o atmosferă unică. Înaintea mult așteptatelor concerte, DJ-ul CS84 va anima publicul pentru o seară de neuitat, la cea de-a cincea ediție iMapp Bucharest.

Accesul este gratuit și se face începând cu ora 17:00.

Between  September 21st – 23rd, 2018, Bucharest City Hall, through creart – Center for Creation, Art and Tradition of Bucharest, will organize a grandiose cultural program, consisting of three consecutive events.

The 5th iMapp Bucharest Edition and HURTS concert

Saturday, 22nd of September 2018, comes with the 5th iMapp Bucharest Edition – one of the biggest 3D videomapping shows worldwide, an international competition which brings  design, contemporary art and performance together on the 23,000 square meter façade of the Palace of the Parliament. Along the 4 previous editions, iMapp enjoyed the participation of more than 240,000 people.

iMapp Bucharest, an international competition that has grown into a reference event for the international audiovisual industry specialists, will bring to Bucharest, for the fifth consecutive year, the best multimedia artists across the world, who will present their creations on the façade of the Palace of the Parliament. The theme of the 2018 edition focuses on Romania’s Great Union Centenary: Blue, Yellow, Red. A Century of Modern Romania.

For the first time in the history of the festival, 10 international teams have been chosen to participate in the contest on September 22, 2018 in response to an Open Call launched in May, 2018. The teams have been challenged to create works using the colors of the Romanian national flag, events and important figures belonging to the Romanian history, with a focus on an artistic perspective rather than on a documentary one. Teams from Russia, Germany, Spain, France, Canada, Belgium, Ukraine, Hungary, China, Mexico, Thailand, Columbia, Bulgaria, Italy, Austria, England, Portugal, Poland, and India registered for the competition.

The 10 finalist teams to present their works at iMapp Bucharest 2018 are: Sila Sveta from Russia, Go2 Productions from Canada, LosRomeras and OTUCINEMA from Spain, NullPixel from Mexico, SKG Media from China, United Motion Labs from Austria, Mindscape Studio from Romania, OCUBO from Portugal, ArtZebs from Ukraine, and Vision Impossible from Netherlands.

On 22nd of September 2018, the 10 works of the participants will be analyzed by a specialized jury, made up of distinguished experts and major representatives of the international visual culture, from the fields of visual arts, communication, mass-media or film-making.

The jurors of the final round of the iMapp Bucharest 2018 competition are: Xavi Bové – artist, curator, professor and the 2016 FIMG Art Director – The International Mapping Festival of Girona, Kate Harvey – associate producer with Artichoke Creative Company from the UK, Ronald Ramakers – independent director working in the Netherlands and Germany for 10 years, founder of Phanta Vision Audiovisual Company and Director of the GLOW Eindhoven International Light Art Festival, Craig Harvey – Experienced Chief Engineer & Technology Strategist at Factory Light Festival from Norway and Yann Nguema – ambassador artist for the Festival of Lights in Lyon (France).

In 2016, iMapp Bucharest was nominated in the Live Event of the Year section of the AV Awards from London – a well-known international competition meant to recognize and award excellence across the audiovisual industry, organized by the AV Magazine from the UK, a publication that has been the authority in the field of audiovisual review for more than 40 years and enjoys recognition in Europe and beyond.

In line with previous editions, iMapp Bucharest will consist of an essential interactive component that will enable the public to select their preferred competitor via text messages sent through a dedicated regular-priced line made available by the organizers on the night of the event. The team enjoying the highest number of text message votes will thus be the winner of the 2018 Audience Award. Moreover, one of the voters in the 2018 edition can be the happy raffle winner of a City Break!

The stage of the 3D videomapping competition will be set by several reputed local and international artists who will perform in Piata Constitutiei and spark the atmosphere in the  official opening to the event. This year, the stage from Constituției Square will host the performance of HURTS, the famous British synth-pop duo formed in Manchester in 2009, consisting of singer Theo Hutchcraft and multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson. HURTS enjoys international fame and hundreds of thousands of fans attending their concerts. Across the 4 albums the band have released they have sold millions of copies around the world.

The Romanian alternative rock band The Mono Jacks will perform in the opening of HURTS, offering an effervescent live experience in an unique atmosphere. Before the long-awaited concerts, DJ CS84 will prepare the crowd for an unforgettable evening at the fifth edition of iMapp Bucharest.
